introduce the Notary Public to other important issues and information.
Upon Completion of this Section, You Will Be Able to
Describe:
(1) Fees charged for services performed
(2) Those that you cannot charge
(3) Change of Business address, etc.
(4) Your duty to notarize documents
(5) Notarizing documents for relatives
(6) Notarizing documents that are in a foreign language
(7) Signing in the presence of the notary public
(8) Communication
(9) Misconduct
Fees
Below is a listing of the
maximum fees that can be charged for services performed:

* Keep in mind that I said “maximum” fees. A notary public does not have
to charge fees. That’s right; you can perform notarial acts out of the
kindness of your heart!

(Note:
a notary public may elect to charge no fee or an amount that is less than
the maximum amount prescribed by law. The fees charged, or not charged,
should be consistent from customer to customer. The notary public is
required to make an entry in the notary public’s sequential journal even
if no fee is charged. The notary public may simply print “no fee” or “0”.
