What is mystery shopping?
A mystery shopper is someone who goes into a business posing as a customer. Mystery shoppers often interact with employees, make a purchase and sometimes return the purchased item.  Mystery shoppers  fill-out an evaluation form describing what happened during their visit. There are specific type of mystery shoppers who even video tape or audio tape their visit. Mystery shoppers get paid for providing this service as an independent contractor.  Very rarely, a mystery shopper will be paid as an employee.
